Mazur also highlights that brown nails are also incredibly easy to wear, as they never look overly bold or plain. It has a soft, neutral tone that goes with everything. It’s simple but never boring, just timeless and chic,” she says. Her all-time favorite brown nail looks, however, use ganache brown: a deep, rich, chocolate shade. “There’s something about it that instantly makes nails look more refined, like the color was made for fall and winter light,” she says. “It has that glossy, smooth finish that catches the eye but still keeps things classy.”

Since beginning my career as a beauty editor, I’ve come across hundreds of brown nail polishes that look stunning against my skin that I once thought would be far from complementary. For individuals with warm skin tones, try warm brown polish shades with caramel, amber, or milk chocolate shades. “They’ll make your skin glow and feel super harmonious,” says Mazur.
